Privacy

Online social networks, recommender systems, mobile devices and location aware services are now central to the daily lives of many people. These developments offer great advantages to individual users, the business community and to government agencies interested in the provision of modern, targeted health and social services. They also generate a huge amount of data on the activities, interests and opinions of individuals, giving rise to concerns over personal privacy.

We are interested in a variety of questions related to privacy, with particular emphasis on the design of privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) based on sound analytical principles. Our goal is to advance our understanding of the issues surrounding privacy in the digital age and to develop practical technologies that support privacy preserving data publishing and mining.
