Systems Biology
now occupies a key position within the life sciences
and is set to play an ever more important role in advancing our
understanding of living organisms. The level of activity in the area
has risen significantly in the recent past, and the term Systems
Biology now covers a very broad range of topics, ranging from
cutting-edge experimental techniques to novel mathematical theories and
results. The emphasis on integrative approaches, in contrast to
reductionism, provides a unifying theme for these seemingly disparate
aspects of Systems Biology.
The 3rd
International Workshop on Systems Biology, hosted by the Hamilton Institute, will provide a forum
for researchers working in key areas of Systems Biology. The workshop will focus on Systems Biology of Disease, with plenary talks covering topics in neurodegeneration, immunology and cancer-related themes. |
