Hessan Feghhi

About Me

I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in Sharif University of Technology, Iran in 2008. And I started my PhD in February 2011 at Hamilton Institute, National University of Ireland Maynooth, in Mathematics of Wireless Networks.

Current Work

I am currently working on Resource Allocation and Wireless networks, and more specifically problems such as:
  • Policing Nodes in Wireless Networks; this involves throughput fairness and dealing with misbehaving nodes who tweak the distributed coordination function in 802.11 in order to gain more throughput in a wireless network.
  • Learning MAC; a distributed scheme to increase the throughput of the whole network by learning the channel.

Technical Skills

  • Programming Languages: C, C++, Java, C#, .NET Framework, Perl, Python, Haskell
  • Programming Skills: Graphical programming using OpenGL, Direct3D, GPU programming, Intel/MIPS Assembly, Android SDK
  • Mathematical Tools: MATLAB, Mathematica, and LaTeX
  • Simulation: ns/2 and omnet simulation frameworks
  • Data Analysis: Oracle and PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), Database Management and Design, Excel, Access
  • Other Skills: Flash and ActionScript Programming, Photoshop, 3D Studio MAX
