Welcome to the homepage of the 4th International Symposium on Positive Systems (POSTA 2012). The symposium will take place at the Hamilton Institute, National University of Ireland, Maynooth from the 2nd to the 4th of September 2012.

As with previous symposia, the scope of POSTA 2012 will reflect a wide range of topics from the theory and applications of positive systems. Talks presenting new results as well as surveying recent work are welcome.

A provisional schedule is now available.

A map of the NUI Maynooth campus can be found here

Abstracts for the Plenary Lectures are now also available.

A special journal issue to which interested authors can submit their work will be prepared subsequent to the symposium.

Topics of interest will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Stability and Stabilisation of Positive Linear Systems
  • Reachability and Controllability of Positive Linear Systems
  • Switched Positive Systems: stability; stabilisation and reachability
  • Nonlinear Positive Systems
  • Max Algebra and Idempotent Analysis
  • Applications to Scheduling and Timetable Analysis
  • Cooperative and Monotone Systems
  • Applications in Mathematical Ecology and Epidemiology
  • Markov Chains and their Applications
  • Stochastic Positive Systems
  • Copositivity and Lyapunov Functions for Positive Systems
  • Structural Stability
  • Positive Systems with Time-Delay
  • Nonnegative and Combinatorial Matrix Theory
  • Nonlinear Perron-Frobenius Theory
  • Positivity with respect to general cones
